Windows Experience Index fails when user profile ismoved to different drive
I have a problem that Windows 7 Experience Index is unable to count disk rate and fails. I have Czech system, so I am attaching error from winsat tool in Czech: C:\Windows\system32>winsat disk Windows System Assessment Tool > Spuštno: Výet funkcí '' > as spuštní 00:00:00.00 > Spuštno: Vyhodnocení úloišt '-seq -read -n 1' > as spuštní 00:00:10.72 > Spuštno: Vyhodnocení úloišt '-ran -read -n 1' > as spuštní 00:00:14.56 > Spuštno: Vyhodnocení úloišt '-scen 2009 -drive C:' Chyba: Pístup k disku se nezdail. Neplatné údaje. > as spuštní 00:01:01.09 > Disk Sequential 64.0 Read 106.87 MB/s 6.7 > Disk Random 16.0 Read 1.25 MB/s 3.5 > Celková doba bhu 00:01:27.39 Sorry for the Czech, English error is something like: "Error: Failed to access the disk. Invalid data" I figure out it is because I have moved all user profiles to different partitions. I.e. all user folders in C:\Users are linked to folders in D:\Users. If junctions are not used, wie is completed successfully. Also running "winsat disk -drive d:" completes ok. I have Windows 7 Professional x64 Czech from MSDN AA. Is there any solution for my problem? Or at least, some way to say that Windows Experience Index should measure on D: and not C:. Both are same disk only different partition.

Check your HDD for errors! Please run chkdsk ."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

There are no errors (chdsk ok, seatools ok), disk check was the first thing I did when problem appeared. When I create new user profile and measure WEI under it, it works correctly. Problem appears only when benchmarking under user profile which folder is linked to different partition.

ok, so it's caused by moving the users profile. So leave it on C: and store the data on D: and include the data from D: into the libraries."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

I knew that it is caused by moved user profile. I just want it to know whether there is some known solution for this problem. "Don't move user profile" is not solution.

Hello Big Muscle! I had the same issue while running WinSAT. There is a simple solution. Make sure, your TEMP and TMP environment variable does not include a reparse-point (junction). So if you have a junction to your user profile, just change the environment variables TEMP and TMP to point directly to the target folder at the other partition. Thereafter WinSAT will run without errors. Bodo
