Windows Event Log
After being told that we had an issue with our computer, a phone call from some company, they said that to check the event log to verify this as I said I was not interested in dealing with them, they said they were microsoft verified. I do not believe them but upon entering the event log it says that tere are critical errors and also other issues, do we have a problem as they sais our computer was vulnerable and our IP address could be seen, this is why there is an issue, we run full norton 360 v5 and seem to be ok as it prevents attacks.

The unsolicitated phone call you received was bogus and part of a scam to defraud you. Next time, just hang up on the caller.Carey Frisch

Hi, Actually, the officially recommended method is still to format and re-install the compromised computer from a known good build (i.e. operating system CD + all security patches while disconnected from the network). As carey said a scam. It's normal to have errors and warnings in the event log. They are usually not very important. -- .. -- "DaveBarrett" wrote in message news:6296dbbc-cfb7-461b-b27a-820e5428d17a... > After being told that we had an issue with our computer, a phone call from > some company, they said that to check the event log to verify this as I > said I was not interested in dealing with them, they said they were > microsoft verified.
