I am trying to import a MIG file using WET in Windows 8.1, but I am not able to do so.  I get a message that only file will be transferred, but not the settings.  I am trying to migrate data from Windows 7  32 bit to Windows 8.1 64

Using Windows Easy Transfer to transfer files from Windows7 ,Windows 8,WindowsRT to Windows 8.1 is available. However ,the setting is no longer supported by Windows 8.1 .Because many settings roam automatically and  SkyDrive provides an easy way to store and share data, the Windows Easy Transfer has been depreciated.

If you want to transfer both files and settings ,I recommend you to work with User State Migration Tool.It is included in the Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit.
