It could be some program that you installed on your comps that is interfering with the shutdown. Care to list what program you're running orhave installed on your pc? Is there any firewall or AV like norton or stuff?

Hi aviramofI agree with Daniel, almost all slow shutdown issues are the result of a program that does not close down properly. The best way to determine this and find the program that is causing the problem is with clean boot troubleshooting. The difficult thing about tracking down a problem that only happens at random times is that it's hard to recreate the problem, so this could take some time.See the following article. The article was written for Vista, but works the same in Windows 7.How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows VistaFollow the steps in that article to try and locatewhere the problem is coming from.Let us know if you need more help.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

forget about it it's a brand new windows 7 insatllation after format i'v already disabled half the services any way and all 3rd startup items what ever the problem is it's either windows 7 problem or incompetable drivers and what ever the problem is it's most likely not something that i can detect and fix so will just have to wait and see what solution will be released in the futrure for all the problems that windows 7 have.

If you have messed with, and disabled half of the services, you might begin looking there...I know people that think a lot of the services are unnecessary. They may be correct. But, most of these people seem to have the same problems you are experiencing.Selt
