Windows Desktop Seach (WDS) does not return any results . . . I have reset the program and still WDS does not return any results . . . any ideas?

If you are just doing a file search, try using Everything Search from Void tools. I find it much faster and more inclusive than WDS. Jerry

That's not Microsoft; that's a third party vendor. There is no way for a user to know the intent of a third party vendor hence there is unlimited risk relative to the potential benefit.
