I have it but I can't keep it turned on

What are you using for anti-virus protection? Some AV programs such as Microsoft Security Essentials and AVG 9 will disable Windows Defender since they have their own anti-spyware component and this Windows Defender is not needed.Microsoft Security MVP, 2004 - 2010
