Windows Backup sticking at 96%.
Hi, my name is Brian. I seem to be having a problem with Windows Backup. I am trying to back-up all of my files in case of a crash, lock-up, ect. The system I am running is a Sony Vaio ( Model #: VGN-NW350F ) with Windows 7 64-bit. I have used a Maxell CD-R disc and it works great all the way up until it gets to 96%. I have been sitting here for around an hour and it still hasn't moved. I'm not 100% sure if that is a bad thing or if it is supposed to take a long time at the last few percentages. P.S.- I know some people have said that it could have run out of space on the disc and that it just doesn't tell you that, but I went into My Computer and it says that there is 94.0 KB free. I just don't know. ????

94.0 KB is essentially telling you no space is left, as a disc holds typically in the vicinity of 700 MB of data (94 KB is 0.094 MB).I haven't experienced the problem you describe, so I can't really help you there. I just wanted you to know the relationships of the numbers.-Noel

Thank you for your kindness of telling me the relationships between the numbers. However, I inserted a different disc and tried to do the back-up again. This second time of trying, it seemed to work. I'm not exactly sure why it didn't work the first time, but don't really care so much because I got it done. :)
