Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation (audiodg.exe) causes 100% cpu load. Windows 8.1.

Hi,

I have a problem with audiodg.exe within a virtual Windows 8.1 Pro under Hyper-V.

The task audiodg.exe causes 100% CPU load and the virtual PC will be very slow. After various seconds (sometimes up to a minute) the CPU usage of audiodg.exe will go to zero and all works fine. This happens in random manner up to 20 times during a working day.

I have tried to find a solution with the thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-hardware/windows-audio-device-graph-isolation-audiodgexe/35337ea9-4fd2-4902-b05c-7aedbf78fe9f?page=4&tm=1434352732899. But Ramesh Kumar said, I should try it in specific forum of virtualization.

In the above thread mentioned methods dont help:

Method 1: definitive no Virus found.

Method 2: Neither in a Hyper-V started session nor in a remote Desktop session I have an Enhancements" tab under "Speakers Properties" to check " Disable all enhancements.

Btw the Hyper-V host is a Windows Server 2012 R2 (not a core installation, using GUI mode )

Thank you for any idea.

Audiodg is a known issue both in a physical machine and a VM. If you want to pursue this you may be able to get more info by running a windows performance recorder trace to help find where the issue is occurring.

In order to diagnose your problem we need to run Windows performance toolkit the instructions for which can be found in this wiki
If you have any questions feel free to ask
Please run the trace when you are experiencing the problem
