Windows 8 store apps won't install

With preview version and  after first upgrading to Windows 8 regular version I was able install apps from the Store. Now all installations and updated are giving me an error code 0x80070002.

How do I fix this?

Hi,

Please go to Event Log=>Windows Logs=>Applications and Services Logs=>Microsoft=>All-user-Install Agent and Apps(Microsoft-Windows-TwinUI/Operation). If there are any error messages when trying to install apps, please post here.

Also, you may try to delete your profile, and recreate it to test if the issue persists.

Hi,

Please go to service Management and check the service Windows All-User Install Agent running state. If possible, try to manually start it and try launching Store app again.

I started the service and went back to the store to install the apps. No luck. I get the same error.

Hi,

I suggest you delete all the installed apps or try creating a new profile. the cause of the issue may be some files needed in installation cannot be found.

Hey we all Tryed this Microsoft had 8 Months to fix this problem Not one tech Support over the Phone could fix this WINDOWS 8 App's pending  they had five people working on this

4 brand New All-One-Computers and all set up Correctly I work For Bell Fibe Techsupport here In Toronto Canada,

I am a Level III  your Level Ones are Not trained in India to fix the Level Ones Are Not supposto even Attempt to fix thease issues but they try The Philappines Microsoft office that was Put Into Place they don't even Know How To Fix this whats the Point In Haveing Windows 8 And A Touch Screen and can't use the feature Microsoft should had fixed By Now they had Over 8 Months since The Pre-Launch Back In March All There Pc All-In-Ones Desktops Lantops Potable Devices where all TOUCH Screen Not one had a Mouse in there Set up go Back to That day when they released the Video For Windows 8 Preview and yous See that I'm RIGHT,

Microsoft Send The Windows 8 CODES to The PC COMPUTER Manifacters Now IF HP DELL SONY ASUS All All Haveing this Problem Windows 8 FULL Version's  was Launched this Year And we all Bought Our Online For $39.00 Or $79.00 Retail 32/64 BIT DVD's .

Not One of you's Really know how to Fix the retail verions Most are useing the Preview still and Not the RETAIL Versionand that what may Explaine 1 month went By Microsoft said they would fix the Online App Store to correct this prob;em 1 Month Later where Still haveing problems don't tell me Microsoft is gonna wait to How Many verions they sell before they do any thing if thats the Shut it down now untill they fix this issue there a lot more issues and Bugs with the new Windows 8 systems but therenot willing to fix it whats the point  In Paying thease Online Tech-Support People if they can't contact the People who created the software and make sure the Fixes are out there and Updates are Implimented On The Microsoft Web Site,

Thease Point's are Valid But not really has been done all thease wen sites are from people whom may think they have the Salution but Don't

www.global.com

here in Toronto had the Temp fix to down load there free Global TV app and it worked for a wile and CTV and they stopped working so again it's a Microsoft issue Not the People who created the apps and are trying to get there Business up and On line like every one else.

Microsoft made it so people could Create thease apps and get a Hands On version on how the software works that's why this round it was sold so Cheap.

I created a different user on my PC and the apps from the Store will install. When I switch back to the original user the apps won't install. So I think the user profile solution is the one.

What are  the steps to creating a new profile?

December 14th, 2012 4:29pm

Hi,

Go to System Properties=>Advanced=>User Profile=>Delete your user profile before backing up files under it.

Note: You need to logon with another admin account to do this.

I found this in Yahoo Answers and it worked for me:

Go to troubleshooting (press win+w >then type troubleshooting). now a window opens in desktop. click "fix problems with windows updates". now click next. windows will search for solutions, but it wont find anything. then windows will ask if u want to try in administrator mode. click yes. windows will find and solve the problem. that's it.

Barnabus23 this worked!  I have been trying everything and even downloaded a microsoft troubleshooting app that said it fixed everything and then would have me reboot--didn't work.  Then I created a new profile worked for awhile but then was right back where I started with no app updates installing or new ones would install--what a headache.  Thank you for this easy fix that even I can remember to do if it starts acting up again!

I have the same issue on every pc I use.  I have white box build, a dell, and an Acer.  All of them have problems with downloading apps from the Windows Store. Can you guys at Microsoft just call Apple and see how they make it work in the apple store?  My ipad and mac have no problems at all.  Thanks.

you rock!!  I spent a couple days trying figure out why I suddenly couldn't install apps from the windows store.  Tried everything else, modern ui troubleshooter, scans, removed all 3rd party software and nothing worked.  one step short of wiping my pc and I stumbled across this thread.  worked like a champ.  while I'm still not sure exactly what caused the problem, at least I know how to fix it if it happens again.

All these error are resolved by this method.

Hi, I have resolved this problem in my laptop. the same error was occurring and the app couldn't be download. i didn't get any solution from internet to solve the problem of app store. But now i am able tto download apps from app store by simply doing this.

GO TO <settings>

THEN <PC settings>

THEN <click on refresh my pc without effecting my files>

it tells you that all softwares you install will be deleted and the list of uninstall software will be on your desktop.

Just allow your computer to do that your files images, music, videos and documents  remain as before.

After complete refresh your problem will have resolved.

Try it 100% sure that your problem will have resolved.

The downloaded files are making the problem....

I have done this over and over and though it says the problem is solved, it's not.  I have no extra security programs or other things on my computer that would interfere and can't find a solution anywhere........frustrating!
