Windows 8 start menu idea
I think that the windows 8 idea is a neat format. however, I think it would help quite a bit to have the applications that are open to be displayed somewhere on the start menu. I have looked around and have not found an option for this, but if there is I would appreciate it if someone could share with me how to do this.

Hi Jermsters,

"I think it would help quite a bit to have the applications that are open to be displayed somewhere on the start menu."
I am not quite sure about the exact needs here .Do you mean the windows store app opened should be listed in the task bar ?
Usually we could get the windows store apps opened by pointing the mouse to the left up corner .

There is an option in Windows 8.1 ,the application of windows store app can be listed in the task bar .

Considering you are using the Windows 8 machine ,we could upgrade it to Windows 8.1 for free. The Windows 8.1 has been made a little improvements based on the Windows 8 .

Here is a link for reference of doing this .
