Windows 8 continually refreshing itself

I have a HP Pavilion 15-p114ng Laptop, which is less than 2 months old. Over the Weekend when I switched the Laptop on and logged in, the Screen keeps refreshing itself continuously and I cannot invoke any of the Icons from the Desktop - except to use CTRL-ALT-DEL button to switch off the Laptop.

I had made a System Recovery Disc (total 5) when I first initiated the Laptop and tried to do a reboot from the disc but not being successful so far.

Can anyone give some advice as to what I can do to overcome this Problem?

THANKS!

If you are able to get to the advanced options (restart the machine while holding shift key) troubleshoot--advanced-start up options-- safe mode. Uninstall your anti virus  in safe mode and reboot.

Hi rbakir,

I cannot invoke any of the Icons from the Desktop - except to use CTRL-ALT-DEL button to switch off the Laptop

Do you mean we cannot operate the machine at present except using CTRL-ALT-DEL button ?Have you made any modification to the machine ?

If we cannot operate the machine at present ,we can boot into Windows Recovery Environment to have a repair.(Reboot and keep pressing Shift ,troubleshoot \Advanced options )
Considering this issue occur recently ,we can perform a system restore to recover the machine to a previous good point

If we can operate the machine ,we can check the Event Viewer for any suspicious errors or warnings .
Meanwhile ,we can perform a clean boot to troubleshoot this issue .

"do a reboot from the disc but not being successful so far"
Have you got any error messages when you try to use a system recovery disc?

Sorry for this late response. I tried the sequence as you suggested, several times - but, unfortunately, it did not seem to work. The laptop restarted itself and goes directly to the log-on screen each time.

THANKS for the advice nonetheless. I appreciate you taking the time to help me out here.

Hi rbakir,

According to your reply ,we can operate the machine ,right ?

Considering it will be OK in clean boot ,this issue may be caused by the third party service.

Please check the Event Viewer for any suspicious errors or warnings, especially the continuous repeated errors or warnings .This may be more quickly to help us to catch the culprit.

Meanwhile ,we can enable half of the third party services and then restart to have a check .If the issue disappear ,the culprit is in the other half parts .If the issue occur again ,the culprit is in this part .We can do this half by half ,step by step until we catch the culprit. Of course ,we need to restart the machine many times to troubleshoot this issue .

Best regards

It's most likely his antivirus, I've seen this many times. That's why cleanboot worked.  I know this is old but i'll post in case anyone else comes across this issue removing the antivirus is the first step.
