I have a problem with opening .exe Files on network shares. Always when I run a .exe file I get the error message "An unexpected network error occurred". If I try the same on a Windows 2012 Server, it works fine.

Are there any other known issues with access to shares on 3rd Pary NAS Systems, except its mentioned in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686098?wa=wsignin1.0

Try looking at the properties of the file. I think in Windows 8 it naturally distrusts network files unless on a domain, so you might find there are some tick boxes to look at.

No, its not a permission problem, I have full access to all files on this share and also tried it with "run as administrator" option. The issue occurs with every .exe file. I also did tests with 2 fresh installed Windows 8, and 2 fresh installed Windows Server 2012. The problem only occurs on Windows 8 Clients.

The NAS Vendor only tells me, that the only problem with Windows 2012 Server and Windows 8 is that you cannot access to any share without the Regkey in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2686098?wa=wsignin1.0.

Could you open these files if you move them to Windows 8 local drive?

I suggest to temporary disable firewall, security programs and UAC for test.
