Hi,

I have tried everything in order to get my Windows 8 store to load so I can upgrade to 8.1.

Nothing seems to work, I have tried a clean boot, resetting settings, change date/time, clear proxy etc.

The weird thing is IE works in desktop mode but doesn't work in metro mode.

Does this have something to do with it?

I am at a loss and it is very annoying!

Yes I tried everything in that thread.

Interestingly enough, I converted to a local user, now I can't go back to a Microsoft account...

I imagine it's the same issue as the Store not opening.

Everything else networking wise is fine, all my applications etc. connect to the network/Internet successfully.

Anyone have any ideas? This is really annoying!!!

Why is it a pre-requisite for Windows 8.1 upgrade path? It is ridiculous!!!

I had problems with the store after loading 8.1 upgrade.

I'm having the same problem - Did you ever resolve?  Tried all the fixes on techweb but still can't connect to the store.  Looking to upgrade from 8 to 8.1.  Thanks.

Are all your drivers up to date? I had something similar happen to me last year when I tried to upgrade to 8.1 and I found I couldn't get into the store until I had updated everything.
