Windows 8 Store (and MS Apps) fail to connect after removing McAfee

I just removed McAfee antivirus from my PC, after the mandatory restart, some Apps, that do require internet connection stopped do work: Windows Store, everything requiring Windows to login into my MS Account (including Windows Logon, if using the MS Account), everything with with Windows or XBox-live in the Name.

If using a local account, the internet connection does work, non MS-Account apps do work and connect to the internet. (Thunderbird mail, Browsers (including IE), Skype on Desktop (After a workaround via LegacyLogin)).

I suspect, that some leftover from McAfee prevents the apps from connecting.

Adding exceptions or even disabling the windows Firewall does not help.

Hi,

Did you use any proxy in Internet Explorer?

1. Please Download and run the New UI App troubleshooter and check.
http://download.microsoft.com/download/F/2/4/F24D0C03-4181-4E5B-A23B-5C3A6B5974E3/apps.diagcab

2. Please try to perform clean boot to test the issue.

Thank you for the feedback.

Unfortunately, the Troubleshooter did not turn up any results (and i have seen, that one of the steps it performed, was to check the internet connection, so i assume it was able to).

Nor did a clear boot make the issue go away :(

There is no Proxy set within the Internet Options/IE, as far as i can tell. The computer is an out of the Box Acer Aspire Notebook, with almost everything still at the 'factory settings' it came with. Removing McAfee was one of my first cations, because it was a trial License and because i prefer the AV Software i am accustomed to.

I suspect what happened is, that some re-route, that might have been set up for McAfee, in order to intercept internet traffic while scanning for threats, might not have been properly removed and is causing trouble. However, as you can tell from my non-technical terminology, i have ho idea if this is even possible or exactly how and where to look for such things.

Thank you so much!!! After uninstalling McAfee my internet and apps on Windows 8 were not working at all and I thought my computer was doomed...but this helped and now everything is back to normal! I searched low and high for the answer and this is the only place I found it. Thanks again :)
