Windows 8 Remote Desktop Metro App - Clipboard sharing doesn't work

Windows 8 Remote Desktop Metro App will not let me copy and paste documents from the remote machine to my local machine. If I login using the desktop version it works just fine. My settings for the Metro App are correct.

I need two things:

1. A way to report bugs like this to Microsoft.

2. A possible solution to this very annoying problem.

Did you read my post? I said "my settings are correct". Carefully read  the question FIRST, then answer. It is not a settings issue, it is a bug.  I  need to know how to report it. I am finding bugs like this almost constantly with the new Windows 8 OS.

Same problem here .. quite frustrating. Is this going to get fixed? The remote machine is a Server 2008 R2 box.

Hej Guys,

I hit the same snag.

What helped me was to kill the rdpclip program on the remote machine and start a new one and then copy-paste started working. So in short:

1. login to remote machine

2. In task manager find the rdpclip.exe running with your username

3. end process

4. file -> new task and type "rdpclip.exe"

Try copying and pasting now. It worked for me with Windows Server 2008 R2.

UNMARK THIS AS ANSWER NOW MODERATORS. THIS IS IN NO WAY A SOLUTION TO THIS.

This user and others are CLEARLY experiencing the all too common rdpclip issues. They are not experiencing the issue of Windows 8 Metro RDP Clients copy not working at all.

What Taavik described in no way fixes copy and paste in the OPs situation.

YOU SCUM MODERATORS IGNORE THESE BUGS OVER AND OVER. YOU UNMARK THIS AND ADVISE THE DATE THIS WILL BE FIXED YOU ASSHOLES.

Arthur.

You have had over 6 months to follow up on this. What have you done to report this bug? What is the status of it?

As the OP asked, why is there no way to report bugs? Why do you asshole moderators then IGNORE all bugs once its clear they do exist?

Do you have any fucking idea how frustrating Microsoft make this? The Technet forums are the only avenue provided to report bugs... And you moderators never action them and actually ignore the threads.

This worked for me, but really Microsoft, should we need to do this?

It worked for me without following step 4. Thanks

Taavik, your solution worked.  Thank you.  I have been dealing with this by restarting for far too long and with as many windows as I have open at any given time, it was a pain.  I tried killing RDPclip.exe and relaunching the remote session before and that never worked, I had never started the new task manually - flawless.  Thanks!
