Windows 8 Bootcamp Media apps not finding media

Hello,

I am running Windows on my MacBook Pro via bootcamp. All of my media is on my Macintosh HD partition, and I am trying to get the media apps (music, video, pictures) to have my media available on them.

I followed the instructions online for adding media files to the Library, and now if I go to my "Libraries" folder, and select Music/Video/picture, I can see them in the folder. However they still do not appear in the media apps.

I read in places  that they have to be indexed to show up in the media apps, so I followed instructions to index the media files in my MAC HD, but still with no luck.

Some extra information: After adding music files to the Library folder and indexing them, they showed up in Windows Media Player, however it shows up as "Unknown Artist/Album/Genre" all of my files under that one title.

I also have MacDrive 9 installed on my Windows partition.

Any help or Info would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. sorry if this is posted in the wrong spot, did my best, but probably wrong :)

Hi,

According to your description, I suggest testing the following steps to check the result.

1.Copy a media from your Macintosh HD partition, and paste into your windows partition.
2.Add the media to the Library.
3.Open the media apps and check if the media shows up in the media apps.

If the issue persists, I suggest trying the steps in the article and check if it helps.
What to do if you have problems with an app:

Also, Lets  run the Modern UI App troubleshooter and check if it helps.

Ok, I tried everything you mentioned above. First I checked the issues mentioned in the first link you posted and followed the instructions there (updating/reinstalling/etc...) and there was no changes.

I also downloaded and installed the Modern UI App troubleshooter, and it did not detect any problems.

I also copied a music album from my Macintosh HD and pasted it into My Music folder on my windows partition and the Music App did add the album, and it is now available to play.

Any further help is appreciated!

Hi,

Regarding this issue, it seems that it should be related to MacDrive 9.

I would like to recommend that you  contact Mediafour Support for help.

Mediafour Support:

Meanwhile, I suggest  you move the media into your windows partition as a workaround.
