Did you have the same problem in Windows 7 or other version of Windows?

Could you post back some screenshots of your error.

in windows 8 enterprise (pro and standard may be lower), you have a maximum of 20 simultaneous connections available.  if more than 20 users try to connect to your tablet simultaneously, you'll receive this error (the maximum may be lower if set manually).  you can view the maximum simultaneous connections allowed for each shared folder by clicking the 'Advanced Sharing' button on the 'Sharing' tab of the folder's properties.

you view the open connections in 'Computer Management' -> 'Shared Folders' -> 'Sessions'

Dell Latitude 10. I've just had the same problem. The thing is that there are no shared folders in use. The tablet was using WIFI access to our network and it was trying to logon into a domain.

After rebooting the tablet, the problem was resolved...

I have had this happen to me two or three times now and it is usually after my machine comes out of hibernation or sleep mode.

I just had this happen to me and solved it like this:

  1. Unplug your network cable, or turn off your wifi.
  2. Reboot your computer
  3. Login to your computer. It let me do it without the network plugged in.
  4. Once you are logged in, plug in your network cable or turn your wifi back on.

Worked for me. Hopefully, it works for you!

I have same issue on my Surface Pro 3, I close the keyboard for few minutes, and when I come back, it show the same message after I enter my password to login.  It keep receiving the same message "The number of connections to this computer is limited.......contact your system administrator.

Even I shut down or restart the SP3, still keep receiving same message.  Any idea to fix it?

Did you turn off wi-fi before rebooting, as I mentioned in my work-around steps?

Hello

Can you try looking at sessions in computer management?

Right-Click on Computer, choose manage.

Choose Shared Folders, then choose Sessions.

How many sessions do you have open when you get the error message and what are those sessions?
