System Restore has been running for two days. It tell me that system restore is restoring the registry.When I reboot my computer it goes straight to system restore. What do I do?

I downloaded a game about a week ago, but that's the only thing I've downloaded recently. 2 days ago I noticed that something called WMI Host Provider was using up about 50% of my CPU and it had never done this before, so I looked up how to fix this and their suggestion was to do a system restore. I started the system restore and everything was going as it should have and it continued onto restoring the registry. After about 5 hours of restoring the registry I began to think that something was wrong, but I let it continue. Its been restoring the registry ever since.

Can you boot in Windows successfully now?

My boyfriend is having the same problem with the WMI Host Provider --I had him do a system restore which has now been running in "restoring registry" for 12 hours. What should I do? I am afraid to interrupt system restore but it's not working. Any suggestions or Nolan12, did you find a solution?
