Hi, I have an HP pavillion laptop that has a broken display.  I have been using a monitor connected with the HDMI port.  I was having some problems and restarted in safe mode without realizing the HDMI port may not be enabled in safe mode.  How do I get out of safe mode or enable the HDMI port without being able to see what I am doing?  This is a friends computer and she has not made a recovery disc.

I would find a VGA cable to connect the monitor to the laptop and start the laptop. Log into Windows when prompted. Go to the Desktop, right-click the Windows button, select Run and type in msconfig then click OK. 

In the System Configuration window, click the Boot tab and deselect (uncheck) the Safe boot option. Click OK and restart the computer.
