Windows 8.1 on Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 13. Fanning like crazy and can't wake up from sleep.

My computer has been acting up lately and I'm thinking that one of the latest updates from Microsoft might be causing it.

As described in the title, when trying to wake up, computer's fans kick into full power but the screen stays black and the

fans keep going like it's trying to take off. At that point the only thing it responds to is a power down by holding Power button.

Then, when I try to start it again, the fans kick in again and go to town while the screen is black. Once again, I power it down

with a Power button. After several unsuccessful attempts to start it, I let the computer sit for ten minutes and finally, next

time I try to start it, Windows "Self Repair" utility kicks in and that is when I was able to choose to "Refresh" Windows

without loosing my files and after that, computer works fine for few days. Stably. Except... All those Windows updates that

were removed from my system during "Refresh". All of those I had to reinstall again and along with them, I'm thinking,

some new were installed, hence the whole story I told above,... was repeated!!! Damn!

This time, I'm waiting to install any Windows updates. Computer works fine once again but

what do I do about those updates? I don't like the Idea of my system being out of date!

With automatic updating, you don't have to search for updates online or worry that critical fixes or device drivers for Windows might be missing from your PC. Windows Update automatically installs important updates as they become available.
