Windows 8.1 mail does not let me view copies of sent emails.

I have recently purchased a new desktop computer that comes with windows 8.1 and windows 8.1 mail. I recently replied to an incoming email, and sent the reply successfully, but when I tried to read my copy of the sent message, all that appeared was the subject line and in the body of the message I got the following notice on my email screen "Reconnect to the internet and then sync to get the rest of this message".

I am perplexed! I restarted my computer, I tried syncing the email message and still got the same notice. What's up with that?!!

I am a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to the complexities of computer ins and outs, but usually can follow directions and achieve success.. so what am I doing wrong that I can not read the copy of the sent email?

I must say I am a tad disappointed with some of the features of Windows 8.1 email.. especially the way its laid out so that the preview pane is always open exposing the latest open message! I much preferred having to double click on the bold faced subject line to open the incoming new message for viewing, and for that matter.. to open ANY message for viewing.. privacy seems to have gone out the window! As usual, Microsoft tries to make things easier, but seems to screw things up in the process.. they forget that most seniors are used to plain and simple old ways of doing things successfully and perhaps they should offer a choice on the format of the email letterboxes etc..

enough of my grousing about things I CANNOT CHANGE.. would someone please help me solve the issue of not being able to open and read copies of sent emails? thanks.. ron b49
