I am having this issue for a while now. It kinda annoying issues with my Windows 8.1.

I am having this DELL Latitude notebook for a while now and it comes with a Windows 8.1 license. The issue is that the Windows constantly asking for activation even though i have activate it. Whenever the Windows Activation screen appears, i have to restart the machine and the activation status shows 'Windows is activated' after the reboot. But it wont stay that way for long.... few hours later the Windows Activation screen appear again while i was working and the status shows 'Windows is not activated'.. again.. i need to reboot.

I do not have the Windows License key label as DELL notebooks in my country has embedded the license key into their machine.. Main Board i presume. Is there any explanation on this? Just wondering if this is a Windows technical issues (could it be some registry error that can be resolved) or is it the hardware (that keeps the embedded keys) are having somekinda defect....

Thanks arnavsharma. Read the thread that you've shared. Theres no solution explained in that thread. Microsoft Activation center does not comes with any working solution. Asking me to reinstall the Windows which i've done it twice. It works fine for few weeks, but then the same issue came back...

Since this PC OEM, I suggest contact Dell

ask them to re-tattoo your motherboard or ask for the new license

another solution is buy retail Windows OS CD

As suggested by britishdhez you can call up Dell and check, since  its an OEM license. 

I found the problem. I dont understand, somehow it is because of the Samsung Smartphone drivers. Whenever you connect a USB device into your USB port will trigger this issue. Uninstalling Kies and all the associated drivers solved the problem. Dont really understand....

activation problems might be caused recent hardware changes. Maybe your PC detect your Samsung Smartphones as new hardware or maybe caused incompatible software, driver or faulty USB cable. If you have other PC to test it will be great.

You can try this:

1. try with different port

2. Install latest version of Kies (compatible with Windows 8.1)

3. change the cable or borrow from friends

4. test with other PC, with same or with different OS version

Contact Samsung for advance TS since the trigger caused when you attached USB phone

If there is not have any activation sticker on your notebook. You can find you laptop OEM license by special program. One of them key finder.
