Windows 8.1 can't click

I just got my new computer today it has windows 8.1 and i am already having problems with it. When i search something in windows menu i can't click on it i can only use keyboard to select it and i can't click on anything in Change PC settings. I tried changing the mouse but that didn't help i also talked to dell for like 4 hours they couldn't help so the guy told me to reset the whole thing and he will help me tomorrow. So anyone knows any other solution?

Can be a hardware problem, I'll suggest you to check with dell since its a new system

Hi

Does the mouse function fine in other places? It only has issues when you click the search result and PC settings?

What solutions have you tried yet? I recommend you switch to another user account or create a new user account and check the result. Meanwhile, you can try to reinstall the driver for the mouse, patch the system with latest updates.

Or use the dism tool to scan if there're some corruptions in your system, please refer to this guide
