After updating my Windows 8 PC to the Windows 8.1 preview, the Media Center Extender is no longer working for Live or Recorded TV.  I've gone through the troubleshooting steps of removing and re-adding the Extender, but the problem remains.  Event Viewer reports the following problem:

WMDRM-ND root license creation failed for Media Center Extender.

Area: 2

Error: The parameter is incorrect.

It seems that this is a Windows 8.1 preview issue for several folks:

Any chance of getting this in front of some awesomely awesome engineers for an expedient hotfix?  :)

I have received an email from Microsoft on this which states:

"We are aware of bugs with Xbox 360 extenders in
the Window 8.1 Preview we expect them to be resolved by the final release of
Windows 8.1. "

Awesome Barb, thank you for the update.  If a fix for this is published earlier than the RTM of 8.1, is there a way for us to find out?

If there was a fix before RTM, it would show up on Windows Update.. but it is unknown if an update is also needed on the Xbox side. I would not count on an early fix.
