Windows 8.1 IE11

Why do some sites come up as mobile sites?

I have a Lenovo all in one, Windows 8.1 keyboard,mouse/touch screen.

Is there a solution to this problem besides selecting,"view full site" from the websites options? But some website do not have this option and I`m stuck using the mobile site on my desktop.

Thanks

"Why do some sites come up as mobile sites?"

You can set IE to open links and sites always in Internet Explorer desktop mode.

may I know your detail HP model? and Windows 8.1 version

mostly this issue happen with Windows 8.1 RT, there is temporary workaround if you see this following thread

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-iewindowsrt8_1/internet-explorer-11-on-windows-81-rt-always-goes/2d5cef24-bf39-4d20-8400-9201b3328f0b?page=1&tm=1426048643516

Go to desktop version of IE11 (you can click on the Page Tools icon at bottom - the one that looks like a monkey wrench), then select "View on the desktop"
Open the Developer tools by pressing the F12 key. If your keyboard (in Surface) is not configured with F-keys activated, you can do the following instead:
[Click on the Tools icon (top right - the one that looks like a cog), or type Alt-X to open it.
Select F12 Developer Tools in the list. The developer tools will appear at the bottom of IE.]

In the black margin, select the last item "Emulation" (Ctrl-8)

Change the User Agent String from "Default" to "Internet Explorer 10" (in the drop down menu).
The web site should appear normally.

you can still also choose desktop mode in that site or you can use another browser to test

This issue happen because the windows will detect your all in one PC as tablet and it cant change

What? I believe I displayed my type of computer on the start of my first post, and it sure isn't an HP! I wouldn't take an HP if it was given to me! lol

As far as the windows version, it was also given, windows 8.1, there is not any more info other than that displayed in System.

The link you provided, and the solution there in did not fix the problem.

F12, if I have to do all that, then I will take this computer back and buy a damn apple!

How about Microsoft, and Bill Gates get off his damn ass and fix these annoying issues for his paying customers!

Thanks for trying to help Britis.

sorry for my mistake, maybe because my monitor is HP :)

to check your Windows version, you can go to Lenovo (thanks GOD) site and key in your model number and check, even though it wont solved your issue permanently at least you know what is the root caused, either because the Windows is 8.1 RT or because this all in one PC detected as tablet

good luck

You got a problem with me on my on post/thread,? I didn`t ask you personally what you thought the problem was!

Don`t like it, don`t post on my thread. especially don`t be proposing something that did not fix my problem! Go start your own thread if you want to lie about an answer!

GM

This is your problem.  This is not "your thread".  The people who are trying to help you are volunteers and your attitude is not appreciated. Perhaps your should read the terms of use as it clearly says do not "insult" or "harass" other users.  Please cease and desist.

It`s not? then who started? This is my problem that I posted which is also called a thread! And your libel comment about me harassing anybody is going to get you in a lawsuit!

I know exactly why, whom & what this forum is for. The only insulting thing on this thread I started, is his little comment about me going to Lenovo for help, that I underlined & made bold on my previous post. You showing favor to someone for the wrong reasons. Everything I stated is fact! And nothing I said has violated any terms on this forum!
