Windows 8.1 Enterprise Sysprep, the CopyProfile not working.

In Sysprep, the CopyProfile value is set to True and Sysprep is run from the local administrator account after the desired profile changes are completed. There are no other active profiles on our Windows 8.1 image.

After running Sysprep we are finding that it doesnt copy the Profile. The setupact.log file on the computer it has "couldn't find a profile to copy" followed by "CopyProfile Succeeded". We can find no other information in this or other logfiles.

The folder C:\useres\Administrator is still present.

Can anyone tell us how we can make the "CopyProfile" operation work correctly?

Hi,

Make sure that you set the CopyProfile setting only once during the deployment process.

When you customize user settings, only use only the built-in administrator account on the computer to avoid accidentally copying settings from the wrong profile.

Confirm that you didn't use a domain account.

Since the copyprofile relies on XML file and it is hard for troubleshooting on forum.

Since you probably want to customise default user profile before image saving and deployment to other PCs, I'm suggesting usage of sysprep audit mode. PC would be rebooted and you will be stucked at audit mode until you will run sysprep. Any changes made at this mode will be automatically copied to the Default user profile, and you don't have to solve copying related issues.
