Hi,

For issue like this, I first suggest you get the latest driver for device and reinstall for a test. For application, you may also try a reinstallation.

Please also keep the latest BIOS and chipset update from manufacture. (Check the computers manual for information on how to do this or call the computer manufacturer.)

Id like to share the following link with you for reference:

thanks for the reply, i have uninstalled and re installed the latest version of software from Dymo website several times and this does not make any difference. the problem began right after upgrading from 8 to 8.1 and it is extremely frustrating.

I DO regret upgrading and i wish i had not done it. this is clearly an incompatibility issue between the 8.1 and some third party hardware-software. Any one who is considering upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, i strongly advise you NOT to do it at least until all the bugs are sorted. i had a perfectly fine working PC before.

Regarding the Dymo issue, this was previously reported.  Nothing further regarding where the issue lies but I did want you to be aware that there are others out there.  I'm always a busy guy so if I have not responded in a week, post here again as a reminder and I will check if anyone made progress on this.

Dymo is aware of this issue. It only happens when rendering barcodes. Tech supports suggestion is to revert back to Windows 8.0. None of Dymo's tech support personnel had any idea if or when a fix is on the way. Really Dymo...really??

i thought about reverting back to Windows 8 but you know you can not just simply undo the upgrade. it requires the full installation of the OS8 and i hate going through days of reinstalling all the apps and programs and setting up all the settings emails etc. the problem is not just rendering barcodes, i tried printing simple text only and it comes out the same. everything is squeezed on one corner and unreadable.

DYMO Label 8.5.1 works fine with Windows 8.1. After weeks of testing, only 1 issue was constant - that of barcode being printed too small. This resulted from how Windows interpreted the commands from DYMO Label.

Microsoft has fixed the issue. You can download the patch here: http://search.microsoft.com/en-us/DownloadResults.aspx?q=KB2911106.

You are right, DYMO Label does not fully support Windows 8.1 at the moment. A new version of DYMO Label is supposed to roll out in Q1 2014. We apologise for the inconvenience.

This really is embarrassing, considering Windows 8.1 was announced in MAY. The dymo update coming out in Q1 2014 leaves me no choice but to buy a competitors product.

Not exactly true. I downloaded the SW from the Dymo site and I am still experiencing issues where it won't print.

Won't print at all?  Check device connection first.

"Won't print"?

As mentioned by Alan Morris, check the connection. Use a different USB port if necessary. Make sure you do not use a USB hub to connect the LabelWriter to the computer.

Also, make sure you select the right label size and use genuine DYMO labels. Check to see if you only have one LabelWriter installed as you may be printing to the previous installation of the same machine. If the issue persists, please ring us as this wil allow us to fix it much faster (see dymo.com for the number in your country).
