Windows 8.1

I have installed Windows 8.1 on my ASUS laptop. The upgrade advisor says that everything is in order for a clean install. After installing the 8.1, everything works properly UNTIL I run the updates. After installing the updates, the o/s will not load.

The Microsoft blue icon appears on the screen and the white, dotted circle appears and spins, then the screen goes black. I have restored the system over a dozen times and con not seem to identify what is causing the issue. Please advise. Thank you.

Try install updates one by one to see which update causing this problem.

You may also refer to event viewer and check what issue have been logged.

Hi,

According to my experience, Windows hardware product update usually caused this problem. When install update, please check if there is any hardware update installed. Such as Graphic card driver, firmware driver.

Please upload a copy of your system information file. Click "start" , type "msinfo32" , Click "file" at the top of the page, select "export" and give the file a name and click "save" .

Navigate to where the file was saved to, and upload the generated text file to a public folder on your OneDrive account and post the link here.
