---> How to use the touch keyboard
"If you're standing or need to hold a tablet with both hands, you might want to switch to the thumb keyboard, which splits the keys on either side of the screen, making it easier and more comfortable to use. To switch to the thumb keyboard, tap the touch keyboard icon , and then tap the thumb keyboard icon . Change the size of the thumb keyboard by pressing and sliding the three dots next to the Spacebar on the left side of the keyboard."

When do Microsoft make resize of normal touch keyboard available ?
You can resize the OSK but the only related option for the TK is to undock it, then you can drag it somewhere instead of leaving it at the bottom of the screen. Otherwise the only other option for the TK is to change your screen orientation, e.g. flip to Portrait mode. The TK then is much smaller. <eg>
I find the OSK awful if your in landscape mode half your screen real estate is gone.You are confusing the OSK with the TK. As I mentioned the OSK has more options than the TK.
If your in office with all the ruddy ribbons you just about can't see anything.
You can use the quick access toolbar to add shortcuts to all the functions you need and avoid using the ribbon.
To change touch keyboard size run regedit.exe and edit (or add, if not present) the following registry string and key:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Scaling]
"MonitorSize"="16"
You can replace 16 with any size you want. You will need to reboot for changes to take effect. The bigger scaling, the smaller touch keyboard will get. Full descriptipn can be found here:

Typed from my touch keyboard which is just about 40% of my 12 in screen. It's hard to disagree that some products are easier to use for people who find computers challenging, but using them or not is a choice between accessibility and possibility for
customization, so expressing frustration in this thread is pointless... I guess...
