Windows 7 restarts instead of shutting down. It used to restart all the time, but now it shuts down properly about 1/2 the time. Any suggestions?

This behavior occurs if BSOD is encountered when shut down. Please follow the steps below to disable auto-restart and you may see the Blue Screen error. 1. Click Start. Right-click on "Computer", choose "Properties". 2. Click "Advanced system settings". 3. Under "Startup and recovery", click the button "Settings".4. Uncheck the option "Automatically restart". 5. Click OK to quit. When the issue occurs, if you see Blue Screen, please find the root cause. BSOD issue can be caused by hardware or drivers. Usually un the bottom part of the screen there will be a *.sys that is shown as the root cause.Arthur Xie - MSFT
