Windows 7 x64 Pro wont install the flowing security updates; KB2688338, KB2690533, KB2709715, KB2718523 The first two have been stuck in fail mode for several months already, the third one is last months, and the last one is from today's update pack. I figured I would wait till Microsoft fixes this issue, but apparently its not on the top of their to do list. I've run ms fix-it, and re-installed the framework.net, same problem still persists. Any news on whats the deal with this? Cheers, Gene

BUMP - same here. When I try it hangs on the preparing to update windows screen requiring a reboot and a restore to a previous point. Next step is to turn off my antivirus software and try it again...

Hi, You may try to install the update manually. If you still encounter the problem, please let me know whether you receive any error message. Hi Kim, Yes I've tried manual install, but it fails just like the automatic one. The error codes found are: Code 800B0100 and Code 80073712. I've also added the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory to my anti-virus exclusion list and renamed the folder, problem still persists. I do not have a C:\windowsupdate.log file on my root drive. I also did the sfc /scannow option and it found corrupt files and successfully repaired them, but still same thing. If you need my CBS.log I'll upload it for you.

I've tried everything I could find about this on Google and Microsoft's forums, the problem still persists, anyone have any idea why this is happening?
