Windows 7 x64 on a laptop (sleep issues)
I am using win7 x64 on a laptop (HP 8530p) and, I have two issues with sleep. when a USB mouse is plugged in and I put it to sleep, when it wakes it goes to a black screen. I have disabled USB sleep. but that does not help. still, find the sleep does not work as well then as x32 install. sleep sometimes still goes to black screen.

Hi Nex6, Please update the BIOS, chipset and other devices' drivers (such as display card driver) to the latest version and see if the issue can be resolved. If the issue persists, try this out: Go to Power Settings, then click on Change Plan Settings, then click on Change Advanced Power Settings, Scroll down to Processor Power Management, and set Minimum Processor State to 100 percent for both plugged in and battery. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda

yes, it seems mostly resloved altho recently the black screen did come back once. but thats, I am pretty sure becuz i put it to sleep with the mouse plugged it. Macs have the same problem. but, x32 win7 does not. more then likly x64 power management so just not as polished and bug free and x32.
