Windows 7 wont connect to internet on startup with docking station
I have a user with a fairly new laptop and docking station. They have had the laptop for probably 3 to 4 months. In the last month there has been a sporadic problem of not having a internet connection when plugged into the docking station. The computer is off when she plugs into the docking station and she uses the on button on the dock to start the PC. On some mornings the PC will connect to the domain network and can access network drives and in-house web applications. However, she is not able to get to the internet. Usually a reboot of the PC will fix the issue. HAs any one ran across this behaviour before? The PC is an HP 6555b laptop and an HP advanced docking station. We bought five of these at the same time and this is the only setup experiencing any issues. ANy ideas?? PS - The event viewer does not show any errors

Hi, Have you tried to use the built-in trouble-shooting tools? if not, please try it first. It will give you some clues on this issue. Also, please post the ipconfig/all result here. Let us analyse it. In addition, you may specify a static IP address for a test. If the issue persists, try to ping the gateway and public DNS to see whether the connectivity is good. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Perhaps it is as simple as the dock is bad or the user docks the notebook too lightly or in such a way that the connection is poor. A loose cable ? Have you tried docking the notebook and booting it.
