Hi, Do you mean you haven’t installed the operation system yet? You should create a system image first then use it to recover. Regards, Leo Huang Leo Huang TechNet Community Support

Hi , First I would like to confirm the following things: 1. The hardware didn't change after repair. 2. You made a valid system image backup. 3. The usb storage can be recongize by the windows 7. Please try the following steps: 1. Open a commend line and type: wbadmin get versions -backuptarget:<g:> Note: Replace <g:> as the actual usb device. The WindowsImageBackup folder should be on the root folder of the usb device. If the backup file is not corrupt, it should be list the backup version. 2. Type wbadmin start recovery -version:<03/31/2005-09:00> . Replace the <version> with the actual version you got from wbadmin get versions. For more information about wbadmin, please see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754015(WS.10).aspx. Please capture some screenshot of the error message you encounterred so that we can make a better understanding of your situation. Hi The WindowsImageBackup folder should be on the root folder of the usb driver. The location should be: E:\WindowsImageBackup\.... If not, it might encounter the problem no backup was found. Besides, please send a screenshot of the inside Backup 2012-01-14 170126 folder and catalog folder. I also noticed that the MediaID Data modified is 2011/2/18, with other folders are all updated as 2012/1/27. So I think that there may be some change was not updated. If the catalog file is corrupted, we may consider restore the file manually, for mor informaiton, please see: How to Manually Restore Files Backed Up Using Windows Backup http://support.microsoft.com/kb/970914 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
