Windows 7 won't recognize wireless adapter
Hi guys, I'm running Windows 7 build 7100. (64-bit) I'm on a custom built desktop. Everything is working great, except 1 thing. Wireless. The wireless adapter I'm using is: "MSI PC60G iEEE 802.11b/g 32 bit PCI2.2 Turbo G Wireless Adapter". I put the CD that came with the wireless adapter in, in order to install the driver. At the end of the installation of the driver, I get an error message that states, "No Windows Zero Configuration" Or something very similar to that. And I can't connect to any networks, nor does my computer recognize the wireless adapter. I'm pretty clueless right now. If anybody could help, I would be very thankful.

I could be out to lunch here, but the first thing I notice is that you are trying to install a 32-bit driver on a 64-bit OS. Not typically allowed. Second, the Windows Zero Configuration is a Win XP function which MAY mean that the driver installation is not designed for Vista or Win 7.Did you try just plugging in the adapter to let Win 7 attempt to detect and install it's own driver?

Yeah I just noticed the 32bit thing. I would feel pretty stupid if that's the reason. The adapter is connected into the motherboard, and my computers been turned on and off several times. Windows hasn't shown anything. Would removing the wireless adapter, turning on the computer, then off. Then putting the adapter back in and turning the computer back on. Would that do anything? Also, the instructions with the adapter say to cancel the windows driver update, and only use the one on the CD. EDIT: Reading some reviews on the product, a person said that there are 64-bit drivers available for download on the website. I'll try downloading it on my laptop and installing the drivers on my new desktop. I'll let you know how it goes in a few minutes. edit2: Success =) it worked out perfectly. I can now connect to my wireless network on my new desktop. Thanks for the help.
