Windows 7 wireless stops connecting to router randomly after reboot
Is there any solution to this one? I'm using a Thomson Speedtouch 546 router. I try to connect my dell laptop with dell wireless 1397 wlan mini-card (latest drivers installed - Broadcom 07/07/2009, 5.30.21.0) back into the router after a reboot, and on random days it doesn't connect. If I wired LAN plug into the router I can see my wireless mac address device in the router, shown as inactive. If I delete this entry from the router then my wireless will connect again. Trouble is I can't always physically get to the router with a wired LAN in order to do the delete. Any solutions to this one please would be much appreciated. Regards, Dave (Windows 7 Pro 64bit)

Hi, I would like to know if this issue occurred to other computers; if it is possible, please try another router for test. As for a test, I suggest you update the firmware of your router. Meanwhile, I suspect this is also related to the router, you could ask for help with SpeedTouch: DSL Support - SpeedTouch Support Note: Microsoft provides third-party contact information to help you find technical support. Thanks for the reply Alex. Unfortunately the router is not mine, but in a shared area. No other users have had the problem from their laptops to the router - although I don't know if any of them are using Windows 7. I'll request a router firmware upgrade and see if that helps. My windows 7 connects to all other wireless networks (eg. home, and other shared areas) without problems. Regards, Dave.

I have now tried many other routers with the wireless card on this laptop. Including the original one that suddenly stopped working. Strangely since that one failure it has worked ever since, on all routers. Regards, Dave.
