Windows 7 wireless connection problem
I have been having some issues with my Wireless, where my laptop when turned on will disconnect everything else to the router. I came across another strange thing and thought I would post about it and see if anyone else is having a similar issue. When at home my laptop auto connects to my network. Sometimes it will not connect at all and think it has something to do with Microsoft. I went through the diagnostics today to see what it would find. It came back saying my preferred networks where not in range, yet I am right next to my laptop with router and other wireless devices connected. http://i930.photobucket.com/albums/ad146/sharpear03/QuestionforMicrosoft.png The thing I thought strange was that the diagnostics came back saying not to connect if the SSID is not broadcasted. In my network settings its set to connect even if its not broadcasting, and my router does not broadcast the SSID. Sometimes I can just restart my Laptop, or the router and laptop to get it to connect. I don't think I should be having this issue when everything else connects, but the laptop. Also when the laptop connects every other devices is removed from the router so the laptop takes first priority somehow. Any information on how I can fix this issue, or any details so I can further troubleshoot this would be much appreciated. Thanks,

This issue should be caused by the driver or third party programs. I suggest you download the latest driver for the network adapter from the laptop manufacturer’s website. Then install the driver and see if the issue is resolved. If it does not help, please temporary disable your antivirus and firewall. If the issue still occurs, I suggest you upgrade the firmware for the router. Arthur Xie - MSFT
