Windows 7 will reconnect my NAS on login
I have Windows 7 RC1 64-bit installed. I have configured a network share to a NAS on my wired LAN. (Promise NS4300N) The drive was mapped using Tools -> Map Network Drive in Explorer, and configured to reconnect at startup and configured with the correct credentials. Yet, every time I log in, I get the dreaded red X, the message "some network drive have not...", and I then have to manually reenter the *&#%$^ credentials to establish the connection. EVERY TIME. Worse, there are files stored on the NAS needed as part of startup. So, besides manually loging in every time, I have to manually repeat a bunch of setup. I hope someone can PLEASE tell me what is misconfigured in my network setup that is preventing this logon reconnection. Or, please tell me what is the purpose of a check box labeled "remember my credentials, if it in fact can't remember my credentials. To move me from XP to Windows 7, the first thing I need is to NOT LOSE functionality.

Your best bet is to use the credential manager (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager)and enter the credentials needed for your NAS and or other netowrks share volumes. I am currently using Win7RC with the DLINK 323 and the Lacie EtherDisk once I mapped the drives and entered them in credential manager I no longer enter them in everytime. JohnWL
