Windows 7 will not connect to wireless
Hi I having problems getting my wireless to work. when connecting to my network via cat5 cable I have no problems fast connection and internet works. But when I try to connect through my laptop wireless adapter it does not connect. It sees my SSID ask for the password but does not connect. I have disabled any type of network security on routerthen it connects but my speeds are irratic (my connection is 10megabits/s but get about 1-2megabits jumping up and down) and websites timeout constantly. All my other laptops and desktops connect with no problems and they vary from windows xp to vista systems. I have tried disabling homegroups and disabling ip6 still no difference. I remember that vista had problems in hotels due to its traffic management built into vista which could be disabled but don't remember how, and I am wondering if that could be doing it.My router: Dlink DIR-655 wireless BGN with latest firmware 1.21My system: HP dv6-1124ca (fairly new from june time frame)ram: 4GBprocessor: amd dual core QL64nic: realtek built in 1Gbit adapterwnic: Atheros AR5009 (I have also tried a usb wireless G adapter from Dlink which is on the compatibility list and have drivers same issue)hdd: 320GB

Hi, Here are some other suggestions you can try: 1. Access the Configuration website of the Wireless router and check whether the Mac Address Filtering is enabled. If so, please add the Mac address of the Wireless adapter in the Filtering. 2. Assure that the WLAN AutoConfig service and Wired AutoConfig service are started. 3. Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus program. 4. Reload the Wireless router to default settings. If the issue persists, please upload the picture to Skydrive (www.skydrive.live.com) and share the link to me. Thanks, Novak
