Realistically there's no way in ____ that anyone's going to be able to help you withas little information as you have posted above. How are you losing it? Does it return? Do you have to reboot or something special to get it back? Do you have a router? What is your physical hardware setup? You upgraded an existing OS... Assumedly Vista? What applications do you have installed? Any old security suites that have not been updated for Windows 7?-Noel

Hi Harley2006, Is NVIDIA nForce Network Controller in use? If so, you may try the following steps to check the issue. Disable Receive-side scaling for NVIDIA nForce network controller ======================================== 1. Click Start, type Devmgmt.msc into Search bar and press Enter. 2. Expend Network adapters, right click on the NVIDIA nForce network controller and click Properties. 3. Switch to Advanced tab, highlight Receive side scaling under Property list and select Disable under Value list. 4. Click OK. You may refer to the following links to check the similar issue. http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=100637 http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/Thread/14C7EE8F-F287-4948-ADEA-F598B7D18C48 If the network card is not from NVIDIA, I would like to suggest you update the network card driver for Windows 7 to check the issue. If it does not work, I also would like to suggest you test the issue in Clean Boot. Good luck!Arthur Li - MSFT

I'm having the same problem but with a different NIC - Inerl 8262V 10/100. I have a clean install of Windows 7 Pro, McAfee Total Protection 2010, Office 2007. One (temporary) solution that works without having to reboot is to Disable then Re-Enable the NIC in device manager. You have to pause before Re-enabling or you'll have to repeat the steps. Before this I removed the check mark for the option in Power Management to 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. I thought maybe then the system wouldn't turn the NIC off when going into sleep mode. That didn't help at all. I'll post back if disabling Receive side scaling helps. BTW: I'm running the most recent version of the drivers for my NIC.
