Windows 7 updates and ATI HD 4870 X2 driver update failing.
Greetings!I have a problem I have not ran into before. I cannot update my Asus tri-fansink HD 4870 X2 Graphics card. I have done a low level format on all drives( yes that took many hours on 1 tb drive and 2 500 gb drives and a little 300 gig drive. I cleared VRam And Removed the MBR on all drives on format.I removed any device from the computer not neededas well as checked all leads to the motherboard power switch and PSU. I have the latest MSDN copy from their site as well as the latest windows virtual pc and xp.vm setup. I had everything checked out with NoD 32 as well as checking online for any malware or viruses.I am Installing Windows X 64 Ultimate with the xp install;( i will try to install other windows OS`S when I get the issue resolved foor now).the issue I have is that it will not download or install the ATI driver no matter if I do a clean boot or not. I get the following errors; "WindowsUpdate_80070103" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"I have tried to update the download client for windows update but no luck. Another thing that is interesting is that when I install my Asus tri-fansink HD 4870 X2 ATI graphics card using only ati Catalyst and drivers is that the machine locks up and I have to turn off the power strip, unplug my computer main power cable , hold the PC power switch dows foor abour 20 seconds, turn orr the PSU switch then plug in everything and lastly turning on the PSU power switch then try the computer power switch. Sometimes I have to do it 3 - 4 times If I install the catalyst driver first before the driver. Out of 13 years of technical suppors, building my own and proffesional phone support I have not ran into anything like this. Any advice or suggestions is greatly appriciated.Thank youironleg1963@gmail.com
