Windows 7 unable to map to home directory
Suddenly non of my windows 7 clients can map to their home directory. here is what we have in AD , home folder connect H to \\fileserver\users$\username can map to the and there is a line in login script as follows net use h: /home. XP users get their username share but windows 7 users get the root of the users folder. I checked and offline files nor permissions appear to be an issue. One of the effected accounts is a domain admin so doubtful security is issue. This just started yesterday and no known changes were made to network. I am able to manually map to the username Any Ideas? Kind regards Craig Craig

Hi, Based on my symptom, lets try granting all of the users at least Read permissions on the Home folder for a test: Users may receive an "Access is denied" error message if you make files and folders available for offline use http://support.microsoft.com/kb/275461 Also, try to test in the clean boot mode to see what the result is.Alex Zhao TechNet Community Support

Hi Craig, Did you check the fast logon settings on the Windows XP and Windows7? Or how about capturing the network trace when running the script. Based on my knowledge, the situation can be the Windows 7 has not been prepared yet, the script had been runned. so, when the script runs, it got failed. I think we could collect the network traffic for checking if this is the permission issue or not. Would you like to collect one for me by refering to the article: How to capture network traffic with Network Monitor http://support.microsoft.com/kb/148942 Best Regards, Annie
