Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit - Schedule a task to start VDI files without user log on
Hello everyone, I would like to auto run some vdi (Virtual Machines) on my machine whether i am logged in or not. I have couple of VDIs setup on my machine for our developers to use. I want to start them whether i was logged in or not. So if i am not available any time they can start it just by starting my machine. Without my logged in they would should get an access of thier development machines. I have configured a taks for this. But it is not working as per my expectations. Task history shows that everything goes well, but when i am trying to ping the VDI machine from other machine in our network there is no success. When i logged in into my machine there are no auto startup VDI running... Can anyone please help me out on this? Thanks, Ankit Shah Inkey Solutions, India. I am afraid that VDI is NOT designed for this purpose. Try to get more information on possible workarounds here blog.kristinlgriffin.com Regards Milos

Hi , What about to automatically log in a user and launch the VDI? You may check the scripts in the following thread that will enable you automatically log in with the login screen is displayed as usual and the application is able to launch at the background. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/windowsserver2008r2general/thread/660519bc-a8d8-4765-aed5-3dd374517e4e Also, you can achieve your goal by writing a service/script. If the shortcut at startup runs before any user logging in, it could easily be configured by any user. It is recommended to ask your question in the Script forum:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-AU/ITCG/threadsTracy Cai TechNet Community Support

Hi Tracy, Thanks for the response. I will put the same question on recommended forum as well. Can we run the shortcut at startup before any user logging? If yes then could you please share any links for the same. I have the shortcuts that are running well without any issues, but for that i need to login. I would like to execute them without login. Is that possible? Thanks, Ankit Shah Inkey Solutions, India. Microsoft Certified Business Management Solutions Professionals http://www.inkeysolutions.com/MicrosoftDynamicsCRM.html
