Windows 7 thinks it has Service Pack 3
Ok so my World of warcraft game wasnt working right and i posted on there support forums and gave them a DxDiag read out so they can help me and someone made a comment about why does it say i have service pack 3 for windows 7 when there was never a service
pack for 7 yet and asked if i was running a legit copy which i am running a legit copy and wanted to know if anyone knows why it thinks it has a service pack 3
Heres a pic of what im talking about

That is because the game has not aware of Windows 7. Vista is only at SP2 so it thinks that Windows 7 with the version of 6.1 is simply a service pack.

I just open dxdiag and it is showing the correct version of Windows. Did you upgrade from an earlier version of Windows?

Hi,
I would like to suggest you navigate to the regisrty, [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows]
and change the CSDVersion value to 0.
You need to perform the same change for the following registries:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Windows]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet002\Control\Windows]
Does it work?
Regards,
