Windows 7 synchronization problems
Hello We having Windows 7 synchronization problems or at least that is what I think it is, we have 3 people in 1 department and they have certain documents that all 3 of them use, 1 runs Windows 2000 Pro, other XP Pro and 1 is running windows 7. The documents that's causing the problems is excel documents, the 2 not running on Windows 7 can work as if nothings wrong but as soon as the on on windows 7 wants to work on that same document she can't see the changes they made and if she makes changes they can't see it, another thing is that document is suppose to open as a read only doc if anyone of them has it open while another tries to access it but it always opens as read only for the 1 that's running windows 7, I've disabled offline file in the control panel but still no luck. Another thing that might be contributing to the problem is that the 1 on windows 7 has office pro 2010 and the other 2 has office xp, can you please tell me how to fix this because its causing lots of problems for the department in question Thanks

Hi , Thanks for posting in Microsoft TechNet forums. As I understand that you encounter the following scenario: Windows 7 cannot synchronize excel file in share folder. Did this issue occurs with another file like Word? Where did the share folder located? Please make sure the user on Windows 7 have full permission of the share folder. It is a possible that user doesn't have NTFS permission on the shared folder. Give authenticated users the following rights on the shared folder: o Everyone - Create Folder/Append Data (Apply onto: This Folder Only) o Everyone - List Folder/Read Data (Apply onto: This Folder Only) o Everyone - Read Attributes (Apply onto: This Folder Only) o Everyone - Traverse Folder/Execute File (Apply onto: This Folder Only) Also try to use Windows XP Mode on Windows 7 to see if the same issue appears: Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 If the issue only occurs with Office programs, you can ask Office Forum for further help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/officeitpro Hope it helps.
