Windows 7 support for MPPE
I have a number of PCs using Windows XP connecting to a VPN server using PPTP with MPPE encryption. Now we are moving to Windows 7 and these PCs cannot connect to the VPN Server. If I disable the MPPE encryption on the VPN server, the Windows 7 clients connect successfully - thus showing that the username/passwords are correct. It appears as if Windows 7 does not support MPPE. Is there a way to get Windows 7 to successfully negotiate MPPE? Thanks, Denis

Hi, I would like to advise you that the Windows 7 support the MPPE encryption. The MPPE generate the encrypted key via MS-CHAP, MS-CHAPv2or EAP-TLS. Please check your PPTP VPN security setting. And check your VPN server’s setting. Also check your firewall , it may be blocked by firewall. If your issue persists, please post your thread at Windows Server Forums.
