Windows 7 slow processing card payments
Hi, We process payments on our system with Adlante and have upgraded our computers from XP to Windows 7. All the Windows 7 computers are incredibly slow when they process their first payment of the day. They can take up to 3 minutes to process a payment. Once they have completed the first payment of the day they seem to be ok for the rest of the day. The Older XP machines are still processing the first payments fine within 15 seconds. We dont get any errors. We log on locally to the Windows 7 machines and then have mapped drives to the servers which run on a domain. Any ideas what Windows 7 may be doing in the background that is slowing up the transaction process?

if you go to explorer and actually go to the mapped drive, (open up explorer and double click on the drive where you do your processing) before processing the first payment is it still just as slow?

it did seem to speed it up, taking it from about 2 minutes down to 50 seconds. The XP machines process the transactions in about 5 seconds. Would adding the ip address as a route via cmd help?

It could, But if this makes it go faster you have some DNS issues then. Give it a try and see what happens. How did you map these drives in the first place? through gpo?
