Windows 7 sleeping
I have an issue with Windows 7 Pro (64bit) - sleep modeWhen it "wakes up" - I lose my connectivity to my Netgear routerThis is overcome by using the TROUBLESHOOTER - Which I assume does an IPCONFIG/RELEASE . IPCONFIG/RENEW but this should not be necessaryPlease can MS provide a bug fix for this annoying habit ?

Turn off the power saving / management on the nic(s)I also found IP6 can cause this, if you are not using the homegroup unbind IP6 from the Nic(s)

Yes, this is very aggravating and what Bubbapcguy said is correct. Funny thing is, I just bought a new Dell wireless printer and it'll go to sleep and you can see the wireless indication turn off, but within 30 seconds of getting a print job, it'll wake itself up and print. Now if they could just do that to laptops that would be great for those that like machines to go to sleep (which I don't) ;)MCSE, MCSA, MCDST [If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. with my netbook (Asus) the "not waking up the nic" was solved with a windows driver update months ago.I also found that my 12 year old hub worked better at this than my cisco switch does.with the old hub the netbooks nic wake up in a few seconds, with the new cisco it takes a good 15 ~ 20 seconds.
