Windows 7 shutting down
I am running a Compaq HP 8000f elite and the computer is shutting down constantly at 7:07 pm every evening. When I look at the event viewer the message is: The Process C:|Windows\System32\Winlogon.exe(computer name) has initiated the power off of computer (computer name) on behalf of user NT Authority \ System for the following reason: No Title for this reason could be found. I have checked scheduled task and I have it set to reboot every night at 10:50, but it never gets to that point before shutting itself off.

It looks like the administrative account has placed that shutdown-command. Did you install the OS yourself? If not, how did you get the computer? From what shop, or other kind of dealer? Try contacting them, if that's the case - you might need to log in as the administrator, or give them access through Remote Desktop. Maybe. I greatly prefer using computers where I installed the OS in person, I have no idea how this would work in practice.

The OS is from an image that was created. We do have a scheduled task for shut down, but this is happening much sooner than the scheduled task.

Hi, I agree with Arve, this may be caused by the administrator preform shutdown-command or the 3rd party applications affect. Please check the applications on the computer or try Clean Boot. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. ”
