Windows 7 server service problem?
I have to disable the Server service get my computer to run without locking up. All other services are enabled. When the server service is enabled the computer will take forever to boot up and will generally lockup if I try to run a program. Computer seems
to work fine with the server service disabled but the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer program will not run because the server service is disabled. Any solutions out there?

Do you need remote file access to this PC? If not you do not need the
server service.
What are your hardware specs for this PC? Generally this symptom can
happen, if there are not enough resources for running all processes on
the PC.

Hi,
The service labelled "Server" on Windows 7 is the LanMan server which is responsible for file and print sharing over the network and is common across all NT platfroms of which Windows 7 is one.
I am guessing that MS Baseline SA requires LanMan to perform its function as it scans the NT environment.

Hi,
As the current situation, we may perform System Files Checker.

Meanwhile, if the issue occurs recently, we can perform System Restore also.
